You’re Avoiding the Thing That Would Make You Better
The misses hold more value than the wins, you just don’t like looking at them
Most people don’t avoid work.
They avoid exposure.
They’ll practice. Study. Refine.
But the moment something shows them exactly where they’re off… they pull back.
I was talking to someone who only reviewed their best work.
The wins.
The clean moments.
And it made sense. That version of you feels good to look at.
But it doesn’t teach you much.
The real information is in the misses. The rushed decisions. The conversations that didn’t land.
That’s where you see what actually needs to change.
But most people tie those moments to identity.
So instead of learning from it… they protect themselves from it.
That’s the trade.
If you only reinforce what you’re good at… you stay where you are.
If you’re willing to look directly at where you’re off… without making it mean something about you…
that’s where things start moving.
Not because you worked harder.
Because you stopped avoiding the truth.
What are you not looking at right now… that would immediately make you better if you did?
