The Right Question Isn’t “What Business?” It’s “Who’s Willing to Teach Me?”
Mentorship compresses time more than trends ever will.
Most people pick paths backward.
They ask:
“What industry should I be in?”
“What’s popular right now?”
“What looks good?”
That’s the wrong starting point.
The better question is:
Who is willing to mentor me, and do they live the life I want?
Industries change.
Models evolve.
But mentorship compresses time.
I didn’t choose a path because it was trendy.
I chose it because:
• the people were ahead of me
• the model scaled beyond hours
• the values aligned
• and the learning curve was steep
I didn’t love every task.
I loved the outcome.
Too many people confuse passion with destiny.
Passion grows after competence, not before it.
What matters early is:
• exposure to systems
• access to thinking
• and environments where effort compounds
If someone is willing to:
• invest their time
• teach you how money actually works
• and help you avoid mistakes they already paid for
That’s not an opportunity.
That’s an education.
And education, when applied, always pays.
