You’re Not Burned Out, You’re Mis-measuring Your Life
Because you only measure the gap.
Most people don’t burn out from doing too much.
They burn out from measuring themselves wrong.
You go to the gym 25 days out of 28…
and focus on the 3 you missed.
You build momentum…
but only see the gaps.
You make progress…
but still feel behind.
That’s not a workload problem.
That’s a measurement problem.
If your only reference point is: “Where I should be…”
you will always feel like you’re losing.
Because the horizon keeps moving.
You hit one level → your expectations move. You improve → your standards rise. You win → it becomes normal.
Now you’re chasing something that never stops moving.
That’s how people become successful…
and still feel empty.
There’s a better way to measure:
Not just: Where am I going?
But: How far have I come?
Because if you don’t acknowledge progress…
you rob yourself of energy.
And energy is what fuels consistency.
Not pressure.
Not guilt.
Not self-criticism.
Energy.
You don’t lose your edge by giving yourself credit.
You stabilize it.
Questions to sit with:
Where am I only measuring myself against the future? What have I actually done well that I’ve been ignoring? Am I motivating myself… or draining myself?
You don’t need more pressure.
You need a more honest scoreboard
