You’re Not Lacking Confidence, You’re Rejecting It
It’s not missing, you’re just not accepting it.
Some people don’t struggle because they lack potential.
They struggle because they don’t accept it.
They get compliments…
and brush them off.
They achieve things…
and downplay them.
They make progress…
and ignore it.
So internally, nothing sticks.
Confidence doesn’t build.
Not because it isn’t there.
Because it’s not being accepted.
If someone gives you a compliment and you don’t take it…
it’s like being handed a gift and dropping it on the floor.
Not disrespectful to them.
Disrespectful to yourself.
And over time, that adds up.
You lose joy. You lose fulfillment. You lose the ability to feel proud of your life.
Because everything good that comes in…
gets rejected.
A lot of people think: “If I accept this, I’ll develop an ego.”
But most of the time, that’s not the real issue.
The real issue is: You’re uncomfortable seeing yourself clearly.
There’s a difference between ego and self-respect.
Ego inflates.
Self-respect acknowledges.
You need self-respect.
You need to start saying: I did that well. I handled that right. I’m improving. I’m becoming someone I can trust.
Not perfectly.
But honestly.
Because if you can’t see yourself clearly…
you’ll never fully enjoy your life.
No matter how successful you become.
Questions to reflect on:
Where do I reject positive feedback instead of accepting it?
What would change if I actually believed the good things said about me?
Am I afraid of ego… or uncomfortable with confidence?
You don’t need to become someone else.
You need to start recognizing who you are already becoming.
