Missing Life
Constant stimulation is quietly stealing your ability to think.
When was the last time you took the dog for a walk without your face in a phone?
I was talking to a client this week who committed to four hours of no-phone time on a Sunday.
He told me he found himself just laying in the grass, walking his dog, and actually
thinking
for the first time in a long time.
It felt weird.
It felt like he didn’t know what to do with himself.
That’s the problem.
We are so “busy” that we’ve forgotten how to just exist.
If your face is constantly in a screen, you aren’t just productive, you’re missing life.
You’re missing the ideas that only come when your brain has space to breathe. You’re missing the connection with the people (and the pets) right in front of you.
Make a weekly discipline.
Not because it’s a productivity hack, but because it’s the only way to stay human in a world that wants you to be a mule for data.
Go sit in the grass. Get barefoot. Remember what it’s like to have a thought that didn’t come from an algorithm.
How many hours of your life did you actually “live” this week, and how many did you just consume through a screen?
