Your Energy Isn't Gone. You Know Exactly Where It Went.

Email, notifications, and scrolling are getting the version of you your goals need.

There's a version of this conversation that happens a lot.

Someone says they don't have enough energy.

Not enough hours.

Not enough focus to do the things that actually matter to them.

And they're right.

But here's the part nobody wants to say out loud.

They know exactly where it went.

It went to the phone.

The thirty second check that turned into twenty minutes.

The scroll that started because there was a quiet moment, and the quiet felt uncomfortable.

The app that got deleted and reinstalled and deleted again because willpower alone isn't enough to beat a machine that was designed to keep you on it.

It went to the non-priority stuff.

The tasks that filled the morning because they were easy to start.

The busy work that felt like progress because something was moving.

The three forty five moment where you look up and realize the thing you actually needed to do.

Still hasn't been touched.

The energy isn't gone.

It was spent.

On the wrong things.

Here's what most people do when they realize this.

They try willpower.

They decide this time is different.

They delete the app. They set the intention.

They commit to the routine.

It works.

For about a week.

Then the quiet comes back.

The pull comes back.

The cycle starts again.

Because willpower isn't the fix.

Willpower is just losing slowly.

The environment is the fix.

Make the phone less rewarding.

Not by being more disciplined, by removing the thing the brain is actually reaching for.

Triple-click the side button.

Turn the screen gray.

Kill the color that makes the scroll feel like something worth doing.

Make it boring.

You can't argue with a brain that wants a reward.

But you can take the reward away.

And here's the part that stings.

The energy you're wasting isn't just costing you productivity.

It's costing you your best hours.

The best thinking you have, the kind that shows up before the noise starts.

That's what's going to email.

To scrolling.

To everything that doesn't need your best.

And the thing that actually matters?

Gets whatever's left.

Which is usually not enough.

Which is why it keeps not getting done.

Your energy isn't gone.

You know exactly where it went.

Stop spending it on things that give nothing back.
