The Cost of Not Choosing

Anthony Spark

12/21/2025

Every choice has a cost.

But so does every delay.

When you don’t choose, you still pay, just slowly.

You pay in:

background anxiety

muted ambition

quiet resentment

a vague sense that you’re capable of more

Indecision doesn’t keep options open.
It drains them.

Over time, life decides for you:

your habits harden

your standards lower

your story shrinks to fit your actions

Choosing is heavy - yes.

But not choosing is corrosive.

The weight you’re avoiding doesn’t disappear.
It just spreads out across your life.

Eventually, it costs more than the decision ever would have.
