Spark’s NotesJune 14, 2026By Anthony Spark

Document Everything When You're Winning.

Winning without documenting is just luck you can't repeat.

Nobody takes notes when things are going well.

That's the problem.

When things are hard, when the numbers are down, when the deals aren't closing, when everything feels like it's grinding against you,

you analyze.

You journal.

You try to figure out what broke and how to fix it.

But when things are good?

You just ride it.

Which makes sense.

But that's exactly when you should be writing everything down.

Here's why winning is the most dangerous time to stop learning.

When you're in it, when the month is up, the energy is right, everything is clicking, you don't stop to ask why.

You just feel it.

And then something shifts.

A month goes sideways.

The energy drops.

The deals slow down.

And you're sitting there trying to figure out what changed.

But you never wrote it down.

So now you're guessing.

Trying to reconstruct from memory what you were thinking, what you were doing, what was different about the version of you that was actually winning.

And memory is a terrible blueprint.

Here's what documenting actually gives you.

Your system.

Not someone else's framework.

Not a book's version of peak performance.

Your specific version.

The things you actually think and do and prioritize when you're running at your best.

What time are you starting the day.

How are you walking into the first conversation.

What's the mindset going into the tough call.

What are you telling yourself when the easy thing is to back off.

Most people can't answer those questions when they're winning.

Because they never stopped to ask.

So here's the habit.

When things are going well, when the numbers are up, when you feel locked in, when life is moving in the right direction.

Stop.

Write it down.

Not a novel.

Not a formal debrief.

Just: what am I thinking right now? What am I doing? What's actually working?

Three questions.

Five minutes.

That's your SOP for yourself.

And the next time things go sideways.

You're not guessing.

You've got the blueprint.

Winning without documenting is just luck you can't repeat.

The version of you that's winning right now.

Write that person down.
