This isn’t about conspiracy.
It’s about incentives.
Most systems don’t reward independent thinking.
They reward predictability.
Predictable workers.
Predictable consumers.
Predictable beliefs.
So if you feel a low-grade tension — like something in your life is misaligned but hard to name — that’s not weakness.
That’s awareness colliding with structure.
Systems work best when people outsource responsibility:
to rules
to roles
to authority
to “how things are done”
But meaning doesn’t come from fitting cleanly into systems.
It comes from deciding where you won’t comply anymore.
Not recklessly.
Not dramatically.
Quietly. Precisely.
The moment you take responsibility for your direction,
you stop being easy to manage.
And that’s why it feels uncomfortable.
